This was a great way to end our clothing unit and the whole school got to take part in the festivities!! We learned about Fashion Designers and the process of designing and making the clothes that we wear. The students then created paper bag vests and decorated them with various craft items...each one was so unique! We then sent an invitation to the entire school inviting them to partake in the fun.
Grab the Fashion Show Bundle to recreate the magic.
On the big day, the energy was unmatched! The halls of the school were transformed with decorations, and upbeat music set the perfect tone for the event. Watching the students confidently walk the runway, cheered on by older kids who gave them high-fives and words of encouragement, was simply heartwarming. The feedback from students and staff alike was overwhelmingly positive—it’s a day we’ll all cherish for a long time.
This was more than just a fun activity; it was a chance for our young learners to shine, express themselves, and feel celebrated by their school community. What a beautiful way to learn, grow, and create lasting memories together!"

Create Your Own Paper Bag Vest!
Crafting a paper bag vest is a fun and simple activity that lets kids unleash their creativity while learning about clothing design. Using a basic brown paper bag, students can design and decorate their own unique vests. I used markers, pompoms, crepe paper streamers, rhinestones, sequins, leaves, glitter and fabric scraps. You can also use, stickers, buttons, and or any other craft supplies that you have. If you are in NJ, like me, you may have a hard time finding brown paper grocery bags, so you can buy them, like I did, from Amazon, here is the link: brown paper grocery bags. This hands-on project helps build fine motor skills and encourages self-expression—perfect for a clothing unit or just for fun!
How to Make a Paper Bag Vest:
Start with a large brown paper grocery bag.
Cut out a V-shaped hole in the top for the neck and two armholes on the sides.
Cut a straight line up the middle of one side for the opening.
Let the kids decorate their vests however they like—no rules, just creativity!
